Season’s Greetings from Penn State Scranton!
The students, staff and faculty at Penn State Scranton extend their wishes for a season of new
possibilities, health and happiness to everyone in both our campus and local communities.
Campus Hours During Holiday Break
University offices and operations, except for essential services and operations, will close on Friday, December 22 and will resume Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
- The campus’ bookstore will also be open Monday, Dec. 19 through Thursday, Dec. 21, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will be closed Friday, Dec. 22 through Monday, Jan. 1, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., resuming its normal operating hours on Monday, Jan. 8.
- The gym will be available on a limited basis for open recreation during the winter break and include court, weight and cardio room use. Hours from Tuesday, Dec. 17 through Thursday, Dec. 21 are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 1. From Jan. 2 through Jan. 5 it will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular gym hours resume Monday, Jan. 8.
- The campus library, currently located in Dawson 10, is closed starting Monday, Dec. 18 and will remain closed through the rest of year. It will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 2 through Friday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and resume regular hours (M-F, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Jan. 8. If you need to return an item from Dec. 18 through 21, use the dropbox located to the right of the library door.
- The LaunchBox is closed during the break.
Spring Semester 2024

For new and returning students, classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.
- The deadline for individuals wishing to register for the Spring 2024 semester is Jan. 7.
