Commonwealth Connections: Instructor Day

Kickstart your Semester!
Join us for a half-day event focusing on strategies that will kickstart your semester. This event will feature an instructor panel and a student panel, followed by an open discussion. Topics of discussion for both panels will cover similar themes so you can hear both the faculty and student perspective. The day ends with a chance to connect with colleagues from across the Commonwealth in an open discussion to synthesis, reflect, and wrap up the day.
The panel discussions will include the following topics:
- Getting to know your students
- Fostering a sense of community
- Encouraging effective group work
- Creating an inclusive classroom

On August 10th and 11th, over 177 faculty from across the Commonwealth were able to grow and learn during a time of great uncertainty. Faculty were eager to learn about ways in which they could improve their craft and innovate their approaches.
The event explored topics related to engaging and supporting students; assessment; and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Review the recordings to hear from your faculty colleagues sharing strategies and tools for success.
