Each year, Penn State alumni, parents, and friends provide the University with much-needed financial assistance through outright gifts of cash, securities, or other property. Outright gifts have an immediate impact and are used to support the current needs of our schools and colleges.
Gifts of Cash
Gifts of cash are the easiest and most direct way to make a gift to Penn State. Cash gifts are fully deductible for individuals who itemize on their federal income tax return.
Most alumni and friends participate in Penn State Scranton's Annual Fund for Academic Excellence with gifts of cash. These benefactors enjoy seeing the immediate results of their generosity in scholarship, facilities, and program support, and they understand the importance of their annual giving.
Gifts of cash can be made by sending a check, or through regular electronic funds transfers from the account of your choice. You can also make a gift online.
Securities, Personal Property and Planned Giving
There are many other ways to give through appreciated securities, personal property, or planned giving opportunities.
The University's professionals will work closely and confidentially with you and your financial advisers to ensure that your gift achieves your individual goals and expresses your personal vision for Penn State. Please call the Development Office at 570-963-2536.
